Site Launch

This year, for the Cyberspace Pursuit Challenge, we had to redesign the chapters website. Unfortunately, we thought it was going to be a drag because of last years coding style which involved intricate flash animations and complicated embedded table setups. Desperate for a change we went back to drawing board.

After much deliberation and basic designs, we decided to design our website using mostly back-end CSS. This means if we want to make changes to web-pages or a certain part of it, we can go to one
file and make to those changes instead of having to go through each page and make the changes. We also designed our website in mind for speed. Last year, the site was laden with a lot of bandwidth consuming media including Adobe Flash Media and High Resolution JPEG images. This year, most of the website is generated with simple HTML and a strong CSS back-end.

Our site this year was designed using the programs Dreamweaver,
Photoshop, Notepad, ColorPic, and the online photo editing tool "SplashUp". Dreamweaver was used to generate a basic template for our own use and then manipulate that template for the rest of the site. Photoshop was used to make the appealing banner at the top of the site. Notepad was used for quick touch-ups before a pre-release of the site. ColorPIC was used to aid in making sure that the right color was picked when we were designing the sites. Lastly, we used the online photo editing tool "SplashUp" when we did not have access to Adobe Photoshop at school.

This year, we hope our hard work will compete well against the others and that this will help serve the needs of our chapter and others in Technology Student Association (TSA).
